About Playa de las Conchas

Playa de las Conchas is a sandy beach break on the north coast of La Graciosa, facing W.

It works best with a NW swell and an E wind, which blows offshore here and keeps the waves clean. It works on most tides; at high tide it can turn into a shore break.

Fast, powerful shore-break waves over sand, better for bodyboarding; on a board the take-off is vertical and it is easy to snap it. Do not underestimate the sandy bottom.

Recommended level: advanced. Watch out for rip currents.
