About Playa de las Américas
Playa de las Américas is a sand and rock break on the south coast of Tenerife, facing west.
It works best with a south-west swell and an east wind, which blows offshore here and keeps the waves clean. It works on most tides; rocks show at low tide.
Recommended level: beginner. Watch out for rocks, localism and crowded line-ups.
