About El Risco
El Risco is a reef break (rocky bottom) on the north coast of Lanzarote, facing west.
It works best with a west swell and an east wind, which blows offshore here and keeps the waves clean. It usually breaks best from mid to high tide; at low tide the bottom gets shallow, so take care.
Recommended level: beginner. Watch out for rocks.
